APACHE web server and SSL authentication

When I was asked to do the binding of SSL(Secure Socket Layer) with the Apache webserver for one of my job assignment, I almost followed the same way as mentioned in the below article.Although, I have done only "One way authentication" with SSL.It is an OSI layer 7(Application layer) protocol to securely transmit data and communicate over the internet.
